Just Whitefly 3 Killer - 600 pupae x3 programJust Whitefly 3 Killer - 600 pupae x3 program(Reference #JG-211600)
Small wasps that attack whitefly larvae.

The most serious pest species of whitefly are the glasshouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporarium) and the tobacco whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). The glasshouse whitefly is more common to the UK. but tobacco whitefly is now starting to occur.

One safe and effective way to control whitefly is by using its natural enemy, the parasitic wasp Encarsia formosa.
Just Whitefly killer is supplied as Encarsia formosa pupae on cards. The cards are hung on the infested plants. Tiny parasitic wasps hatch from these cards and fly off to parasitise whitefly pupae. The whitefly pupae turn black after 10 - 14 days depending on the temperature. These will in turn produce more encarsia formosa which will further control the whitefly population. These tiny insects only attack whitefly and are harmless to all other creatures.

1 unit delivered every 2 weeks for 3 applications.
Includes 10 cards on 2 strips of 5 on every delivery.

Just Mealybug Killer - 1 pack of 10 Cryptolaemus larvaeJust Mealybug Killer - 1 pack of 10 Cryptolaemus larvae(Reference #JG-211556)
Predatory beetles that feed on the mealybug.

There is also a root mealybug, which feeds on roots. This can be treated with the compost dwelling predatory mite, hypoaspis spp.

The use of predators for mealy bug control can be dated back to the beginning of the twentieth century, using the predatory beetle Crytptolaemus montrouzieri, which is a ladybird like beetle originating from Australia. These insects are still the most effective biological control of mealy bug. Both the larvae and the adults of this beetle feed on mealy bug.
The young Cryptolaemus larvae can reach 13mm in length, and resemble the mealy bug in appearance as they are white with mealy like points sticking from them.

The adults and young larvae feed on mealybug eggs and nymphs and the older larvae feed on the whole lifecycle of the mealybug.

Introductions can be made from Spring until Autumn.

Just Mealybug Killer is supplied as either larvae or adult Cryptolaemus montrouzieri. This package contains larvae.
For small plants or quicker establishment, apply the larvae.
For taller plants and larger infestations of mealy bug, apply adults (see below).
Just Mealybug Killer is only suitable for use in glasshouses or conservatories as Cryptolaemus require a minimum temperature of 16ºC, (61ºF), and development is much quicker at higher temperatures.
Apply between April and September when Cryptolaemus reproduce effectively.

Just Greenfly Killer - 25 adult ladybirdsJust Greenfly Killer - 25 adult ladybirds(Reference #JG-421641)
Ladybird adults that feed on greenfly/aphids.

Aphids can be controlled using ladybirds. This is the species Adalia bipunctata, a naturally occurring ladybird species in the UK. This species attacks and eats many different species of aphid or greenfly. The adults leave their overwintering sites early in the spring, looking for aphids to eat. The adults will lay eggs, which develop into larvae, which also eat aphids in greater number than the adults. The larvae will eventually stop feeding, pupate and change into adults, each adult then laying 20 - 50 eggs per day. Ladybirds will feed and reproduce from the spring to the summer and, in the autumn, look for hibernating homes in which to over-winter.

There is a choice of two ladybird products, adults or larvae. This package contains the adult form. The adults are winged at this stage and are only recommended for inside a greenhouse or conservatory. They also do not eat as many aphids as the larval form. Ladybird larvae can be used indoors and outdoors, if aphids are present.

Only apply when aphids are present.

Temperatures must be above 10ºC (50ºF).

If adults are applied outdoors there is no guarantee they will stay in that area.

The predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis.

These predatory mites are shaken over the infected leaves or placed in a distribution box and hung on high or taller plants. The predatory mite reproduces at twice the rate of red spider mite at 18 degrees Celsius and eats the eggs, young and adults of the spider mite. JUST SPIDER MITE should only be applied after red spider mite have been observed and works better with higher humidity. Phytoseiulus persimilis are also more effective in greenhouses or conservatories. In optimum conditions it will consume more red spider mites than Amblyseius.

Supplied as young and adult predators in a shaker bottle of 500 oinsects contained in a vermiculite carrier material, which should be shaken or poured onto the infected
areas of red spider mite damage.
For narrow leaves or tall plants hang the D-Boxes enclosed with your predators.
Phytoseiulus require temperatures between 16 & 20ºC (61 & 68ºF) to be active and reproducing.

Always release your predators as soon after receipt as possible. This is a live product and unnecessary storage once received will result in death of the predator.

Just Slug Killer Small - 12 million nematodes to treat 40 sq. mJust Slug Killer Small - 12 million nematodes to treat 40 sq. m(Reference #JG-211631)
Small worms that seek out slugs.

Slugs will eat about twice their own body weight each day. An average slug weighing 0.1oz will consume a staggering 1.75lbs of plant material in a season!

Slug damage can be recognised by the irregular holes with smooth edges they make on leaves and nearby will be evidence of their slime trails. They are particularly fond of succulent seedlings, which when left unprotected, can be totally destroyed in a single night. They will attack the leafy parts of salads, fruits, vegetables and ornamentals often boring holes into crops such as potato and strawberry.

Many slugs live underground and this is where we target the biological control using nematodes.

Just Slug Killer contains microscopic worms (nematode species Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita).

These tiny microscopic worms seek out slugs and kill them. This happens when the slugs are underground, mainly in the day.

The nematodes are watered into the soil and enter the slugs releasing a bacteria, which stops them feeding and kills them within 3 days.

The nematodes use the slug to reproduce in, eventually releasing many more
nematodes to find more slugs to kill.
Safe to use, harmless to children, pets, birds and wildlife and will control all common species of slugs up to 8cm (3 in) in length.
Continues to work in wet weather and is active from 5ºC.

Provides control for up to six weeks; for continued protection re-apply after this time.

These nematodes will kill snails if they come into contact with them but this is more difficult as snails feed on the surface.

Product can be used from March to October.

Nematodes should not be applied in bright sunlight, apply during dull conditions or during the evening.

Product should not be applied close to ponds, or water snail populations can be affected.

Just Vine Weevil Killer Small - 6 million nematodes to treat 12 sq. mJust Vine Weevil Killer Small - 6 million nematodes to treat 12 sq. m(Reference #JG-211518)
Tiny worms that kill the larvae.

The larvae or grubs are "c" shaped, creamy white with a brown head and no legs and are found in the soil or plant compost. The first sign of damage can be the plant wilting due to insufficient roots being left to support it. The larvae are normally active in the spring and late summer/early autumn but can sometimes be found all year round in heated greenhouse or conservatories.

The adult vine weevil is dull black colour with a pear shaped body. They feed at night and make distinctive cut marks on leaf edges. Female adults lay hundreds of eggs which develop into larvae.

The safest and easiest way to control vine weevil is by treating with nematodes. The larvae can be controlled by pathogenic nematodes from the Heterorhabditis species or the Steinernema species.

Just Vine Weevil killer contains nematodes, which kill the vine weevil larvae.

The nematodes are watered into pots, compost or soil and once in contact with the vine weevil larvae they enter the body releasing a bacteria which kills the larvae or grub. The nematode feeds on the bacteria digesting the grub and reproduces inside the larva or grub eventually releasing many more nematodes to search for other vine weevil larvae.

Infected vine weevil grubs or larvae go brown and die within 2-3 weeks.

Just Vine Weevil Killer should be applied in the spring and autumn to catch the vine weevil larvae. Applications in the spring can be made after the soil or compost is above 5ºC (41ºF)which is usually March onwards. The second
treatment can be made from Mid August to October.

Applications can be made to compost in pots or open ground, where vine weevil larvae are present.

Avoid applying nematodes in bright conditions; apply in dull weather or early evening.

Just Leatherjacket Killer - 50 million nematodes to treat 100 sq. mJust Leatherjacket Killer - 50 million nematodes to treat 100 sq. m(Reference #JG-501039)
Nematodes will feed on the larvae or grubs.

Adults generally start to hatch from pupae in late July early August and may be seen flying until September. They are usually noticed when they enter brightly lit houses to which they are attracted. Large numbers of adults may also be seen emerging from lawns early in the morning especially around August time.

After hatching they mate and the females lays eggs, (usually late summer), in the ground a process which they accomplish in 24 hours. Eggs hatch in about two weeks and the new larvae start to feed on grass roots, usually late August early September.

The larvae continue feeding through the winter and into the following spring. Larvae stop feeding in May / June after which they will pupate close to the surface of the soil.

Nematodes can be used from August to October as a means of control.

Just Leatherjacket Killer contains the nematode Steinernema feltiae and should be watered into lawns or grassland about two weeks after adult daddy-long-legs are seen. Leatherjackets will die within two to three weeks of application.

The product must only be used between August and October.
The treated area must be moist before and after application, (not soaking).
Keep moist for 10-14 days after application.
Avoid applying nematodes in bright conditions; apply in dull weather or in the evenings.
Soil temperatures above 10ºC are required for the nematode to be active.

Use all of the pack contents in one application.
The nematodes should be used as soon as possible after receipt. If for any reason they are not going to be used immediately, they should be stored in a refrigerator.
They will keep for up to 3 weeks in the fridge.

Just Chafer Grub Killer Small - 10 million nematodes to treat 20 sq. mJust Chafer Grub Killer Small - 10 million nematodes to treat 20 sq. m(Reference #JG-211570)
Small worms that attack & kill chafer grubs.

Tunnelling activity of the larvae can cause the turf to feel spongy underfoot.
Grubs tend to cause significant damage from Autumn to Spring by which time the larvae are becoming fully grown. Predatory birds and mammals may cause secondary damage by digging up turf in their search for an easy meal consisting of white grubs.

Nematodes can be used against them in the late summer. The soil temperature is not high enough in the spring for the nematodes to be active.

Nematodes should be watered into lawns from late July to late September. It is extremely important to water the nematodes into the lawn thoroughly and keep the lawn moist for at least 10 days after treatment.

The nematodes search out the chafer grubs, entering and killing them by releasing bacteria, before using their bodies to reproduce in and releasing more nematodes to the soil.

Product should only be applied from late July to late September when the young grubs are active and the soil temperature is above 12ºC.

Lawns should be moist on application, and kept moist for at least 10 days after application.

Nematodes have a shelf life and should be used as soon as possible after receipt. They can be stored in a refridgerator for up to two weeks prior to use if necessary.

Ensure application before the pack expiry date.

Just Aphid Killer - 200+ Lacewing LarvaeJust Aphid Killer - 200+ Lacewing Larvae(Reference #JG-350101)
Larvae that feed on greenfly, thrips and mites.

The insect Chrysoperla carnea, more commonly known as a Lacewing, is at its larval stage an effective predator of aphids. It has also been observed eating other pests like Thrips, Red spider mite and Moths eggs. each larvae can consume up to 50 aphids a day.

The adult lacewings do not feed on insects but are attractive insects in the garden and will use any beneficial habitat provided to over-winter in or to shelter in on colder spring days. The adults are mainly nocturnal and will feed on pollen.

Lacewings are better suited to low growing plants like bedding or pot plants.

The bottles contain buckwheat which allows the Lacewing larvae to hide from each other during transport.

The product should be sprinkled over the infected plants.

It is recommended to use Lacewing larvae in greenhouses or conservatories, although spot treatments outdoors are possible when temperatures are above 12C (54F).

Apply the Larvae when Greenfly or aphids are observed on plants.

One bottle will treat about 40-50 plants.

Just Caterpillar Killer - 6 million nematodesJust Caterpillar Killer - 6 million nematodes(Reference #JG-200307)
New caterpillar control.

Small Caterpillars feed mainly on the underside of leaves. As they get larger they spread over the plant making bigger holes in the leaves and leave excrement on the plant.

Since the withdrawal of the natural bacteria, Bacillus thuringiensis, from sale in garden centres, there has been no effective natural control of caterpillars available. JUST GREEN can now offer a nematode, which attacks caterpillars.

The nematodes are sprayed or watered onto the plants infected with caterpillars, unlike other nematode treatments, where they are watered into the soil or compost.
The nematodes need to come into direct contact with the caterpillars quickly as they will die if left to dry out on the leaf. Once the nematodes come into contact with the
caterpillars, they will enter through a natural body opening. When they are inside they release a bacteria, the caterpillar dies within a few days. JUST CATERPILLAR KILLER is
more effective against small caterpillars, so apply soon after observation of caterpillars.
